In response to the ever growing concern of our planets ecological system, Arizona Bound Tours would like to do our part to help educate those who care. Our diverse staff have created several new tours to add to our list of programs with an emphasis on eco-tourism here in the great Sonoran Desert.
An Arizona Bound docent guide will give you an experience in Arizona's ecosystem with informative walks. We will educate on the diverse plant life, incredible geology, and colorful history of the delicate environment we live in.
With the addition of these new tours we have acquired permits for several new trails in the pristine Tonto National Forest near Bartlett Lake. We look forward to working with you in the future!
ANCIENT INDIAN RUIN TOUR
You will 4 x 4 high up into the Tonto Hills, in search of an ancient Indian village. Your guide will then escort you to where a prehistoric culture once thrived. Walk in the footsteps of the villagers of the past and look for artifacts and metates while our expert guide enriches you on a time gone by. Stroll through the unique and diverse plant life once used by the ancient ones for food, clothing and medicinal purposes.
ECO - HIKING TOUR
Come hike with us through some of the most unique territory in the Southwest. You will hike through the tall saguaro forest or atop of the beautiful desert mountains. If wildlife is your forte, hike with us along the Verde River on the Fort McDowell lndian Reservation. This pristine riparian area is home to the southern most nesting pairs of the American bald eagle. Of course, this hiking trip can be customized to fit anyone's ability or needs, Just ask! This hike includes bottled water and snacks.
BARTLETT LAKE TRAIL TOUR
A 4 x 4 will pick you up and take you along the ridges of Bartlett Lake and the Verde River. This tour has magnificent views of the rugged Matazal wilderness area . This area is profuse with very unusual species of plants which is great for nature walks and hikes. Our guides will share their diverse background for your enjoyment and enrichment.
